The Academic English courses offer essential academic practices to fully prepare students for entry into an undergraduate or postgraduate degree.

There is a strong focus on written and verbal communication skills throughout the course essential for the success into the commercial and academic world.

  • IELTS (Academic) – 5.5 with no band less than 5.0 or the equivalent recognised English test
  • Age – 16 years+
  • Australian students – Year 12 completion or equivalent
  • International Students: $350/ week
  • Australian Students: $200/ week
  • Materials Fees: $15/ week

    This course will provide an English language qualification recognised by leading Australian universities including: CQU and  ECU. Students will be equipped with the required level of English language enabling them to undertake further studies in the Higher Education sector.

    Students entering undergraduate degrees:

    Students will enter the course with an equivalent IELTS band 5.5/CEFR B2 and exit with the equivalent of a band 6.0/CEFR B2+. Students are expected to develop their language skills to Upper-Intermediate level.

    Students entering postgraduate degrees:

    Students will enter the course with an equivalent IELTS band 6.0/CEFR B2+ and exit with the equivalent of a band 6.5/CEFR C1. Students are expected to develop their language skills to Advanced level.
