How do I apply to IIBT?

You can apply online via our website or by submitting a completed application form via email or post. Once your application is assessed, you’ll receive a Letter of Offer and a Written Agreement. Upon accepting and making the initial payment, we will issue your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) for visa application.

How long can I stay on a student visa?

The duration of your student visa depends on the total duration of your enrolled course.

Can I extend or change my visa while in Australia?

You may be able to apply for a new visa or extend your stay, provided your current visa does not carry a “No Further Stay” condition. Be sure to apply before your current visa expires.

Can I work while studying?

Yes, international students may work while studying under certain visa conditions. Work hour limits apply (e.g. up to 48 hours per fortnight during term time). During scheduled breaks, you may work full-time.

Is Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) compulsory?

Yes. As a condition of your student visa, you must maintain OSHC for the entire duration of your stay in Australia.

You will typically attend ~15 hours per week (face-to-face) plus additional online components. Course timetables may vary.

Yes, to complete your qualification, you must submit all required assessments and meet the academic progress standards for each unit.

What support is available if I struggle academically?

We encourage you to talk to your teacher or Course Coordinator. We also offer academic support services, counselling, and study workshops to help you succeed.

What facilities does IIBT offer?

Are your teachers and staff qualified?

Yes. All teaching, training, and administrative staff are appropriately qualified and regularly engage in professional development.

Will I receive a student ID card?

Yes. On your first day during orientation, you’ll receive your student ID card, which may be used for student discounts (though not for public transport).

Can I access internet and computing on campus?

Yes. Campus-wide WiFi and computing facilities are available to all students at no extra cost.

Accommodation & Living

Does IIBT provide on-campus housing?

No, we do not offer on-campus accommodation. However, we assist students in finding homestay, shared housing, or private rentals.

How much do living expenses cost?

On average, students may need around AUD $29,710 per year (excluding airfare, OSHC, and tuition) to cover accommodation, food, transport, and entertainment. This estimate can vary based on lifestyle and location.

What should I do if I fall sick or need medical help?

You should visit a local General Practitioner (GP). We can provide you with a medical centre list and assist in arranging services in your preferred language.

Policies & Administration

Do I have to attend orientation?

Yes. Orientation is mandatory. It covers policies, procedures, and course selection, and helps you settle in smoothly.

What if I want to leave IIBT before I finish my course?

This is called a “transfer of provider.” Under Australian immigration regulations, you typically must complete at least six calendar months of your principal course before applying for a release.

What if I need to defer or suspend my studies?

Requests to defer or suspend studies may be considered under compassionate or compelling circumstances. Approval is subject to institutional and regulatory policies.
